Party Owl Tip #1: Outdoor Party Reminders

Here are a few tips that you might not have thought about when planning your outdoor event.

-Say No to Paper Plates Outdoors

Do not use paper/disposable lightweight place settings when having an outdoor party. Unless you can predict the weather, and are absolutely positive the weather will be perfect, try to avoid paper plates for outdoor events. The slightest breeze (even under a gazebo or tent) will send your gorgeous place settings and hard work right out the window. For outdoor parties use heavy place settings and centerpieces. If you decide against having this type of dinnerware you may want to consider moving the children’s tables and favor table inside (Favor table Tip #2). You can always have all activities and dress up area outside.

-Keep Out of Sun

When deciding where to set up your favor table, keep your favors in mind. Keep chocolate bars, candy favors, cupcakes and cakes out of the direct sun and heat.

-Prevent Food Poisoning

Another tricky thing about outdoor parties is food safety. Hamburger meat and potato salad may go bad quicker in the sun. Keep a constant eye on how long food has been out to prevent food poisoning.

Party Owl Part How To #1- How To NOT Stress Out During the Party

A birthday party should be fun and memorable for the guests, the birthday child and for you! Here are some tips:

-Be prepared-Make a checklist of EVERYTHING you will need and check it off before the party. Part Owl’s party Checklist

-Say YES to help- Don’t be proud! If someone offers to help make the lemonade or direct a party game let them! Your party will be amazing and you will still get all of the credit for pulling it off!

-Consider Catering- You may think that it will be less expensive if you just make the food yourself but you need to consider how much less stress you would have if you had someone cater. Most catering places deliver, serve and clean up. It might be worth the extra money to relax and actually eat at the party without trying to serve everyone. It will also allow you to MINGLE!
